Weather and Clothing
Q. Will it be cold?
A. It’s hard to say these days, but definitely cool enough to wear layers — sweaters, jackets, scarves, etc. Historically, the average October temperature in Falls Village, CT, is 63°F during the day and 44°F at night.
Q. What should I wear over Shabbat?
A. Anything you feel comfortable in!
Accommodations
Q. How many beds are in the rooms?
A. There are multiple configurations of rooms to accommodate all the families coming (singles, doubles, rooms for families of 3, 4, 5, etc.).
Q. Are the rooms heated?
A. Yes
Q. Are there refrigerators in the rooms?
A. Yes
Q. Is there an Eruv?
A. Yes, the entire Isabella Freedman facility is covered by an Eruv, including the lake. Some of the suggested hikes will go beyond the boundary of the Eruv.
Food
Q. Will there be vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and/or allergy aware food available?
A. Yes - please let us know on the RSVP what you need.
Q. Will food be available between the meals?
A. There will be light snacks available in the building on Friday afternoon before Shabbat and on Shabbat afternoon after lunch.
Q. Can I bring my own food?
A. Yes, though you cannot bring it inside the public buildings
Arrival and Departure
A. Can I arrive before 3pm on Friday?
Q. If necessary, yes, but you will not be able to check in to your room until 3pm.
Q. Do I need to leave by 10am Sunday morning?
A. Room check out is by 10am on Sunday, but you do not need to leave the facility by that time.
Pets
Q. Can I bring my dog or other pet?
A. Unfortunately, dogs and other animals are not permitted, unless it is a service animal.
